We undertake tasks for the benefit of tribal members and for the common benefit of our two active marae, Poohara and Maungatautari. This has included a wide range of activities such as kaitiakitanga and liaising with local and central government, cultural monitoring, waananga reo and tikanga, and educational initiatives. We also established the Taumata Wiiwii Trust as the mandated entity to negotiate our non-raupatu Treaty Settlement and receive settlement redress.
We nurture the sharing and exchange of traditional knowledge for our taonga, whaanau experiences of these taonga and habitats, and environmental well-being measures across multiple contexts including hapū, multi-iwi and science knowledge dimensions.
